AFLA aspires to a new African dawn in which the rights of all are respected and protected, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, political and religious affiliation and other unacceptable forms of differentiation. AFLA was founded to address Africa`s human rights challenges and to reform the culture of human rights in Africa. It is a culture of massive violations of human rights in all areas. These include genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, violations of the rights to personal security and violations of fundamental economic, social and cultural rights. — Evelyn. A. Ankumah, Executive Director of African Mutual Legal Assistance.
